We are excited to begin the 2008 season of the SOLECO Stingrays Swim Team. Our league is fun for swimmers of all ages and abilities. We encourage anyone who is unsure about joining to come to registration and learn what our team and league is all about. Veteran swim parents as well as the coaches who can answer any questions that you may have will be on hand.

Registration Dates. Registration/Orientation this year will be held on Tuesday, April 29th, and Wednesday, May 7th, 6:30pm, at the Southern Lehigh Middle School Auditorium.

Fees. The regular swim team fee is $50 per swimmer. Pre-swim team registration is also $50. All swimmers must also be fully paid members of the Southern Lehigh Community Pool by May 24th. A Pool Board representative will be present at registration for pool memberships or you can download the SOLECO Pool membership application from our MEMBERSHIP page.

Parents' Participation. The Mandatory Parents' Meetings on Registration Nights will review swimmers' and parents' expectations and answer questions. All parents will be expected to sign up to work meets and our big yearly fundraiser, Summer Splash. We are hoping to have 110% support from all swimming families. We will need commitment at the registration meetings for volunteering for these events. Let’s all help to make 2008 a great season (bring your calendars).

Eligibility. Anyone from six years of age through the summer following senior year in high school is eligible to join the team. Coaches will evaluate new swimmers at an indoor practice session, from 7:00 to 8:30pm, on Monday, May 12th at Cedar Crest College's Rodale Aquatic Center. All swimmers must be able to swim at least 25 meters (one length of the pool). If a swimmer cannot swim 25 meters, he/she may be eligible for pre-swim team. The coaches will determine this eligibility. Please note that the pre-swim team is not intended to be swimming lessons and inclusion will be at the coaches' discretion.

Meet and Practice Sessions. Meets will be held on Monday and Thursday evenings from mid-June through the end of July.   View this year's Meet Schedule.

Regular weekly indoor practices will be held Mondays thru Fridays after school, beginning May 27th. After school closes in mid-June, outdoor practices will be held Mondays thru Fridays in the mornings through the end of the season.   View Team Practice Schedule.

Key Dates. Summer Splash will be held on Saturday, July 12th. Best of the Rest will be held on Wednesday, July 23rd at Northampton. Annual Team Banquet will be held on Thursday, July, 24th. Championships will be held on Saturday, July 26th, at Quakertown.

Swim Suits. Swim suits and other accessories (e.g., goggles and caps) will be available for sale at registration.
